A Favorite: the Sleevey Wonder

I just love it when I come across a solution to a ‘problem’ or a need, and it fits the bill so perfectly. I’m often asked by clients to help them style a favorite sleeveless dress or top that they’ve loved, but they’d just a like a little coverage on the upper arms. It’s not that they are wanting a jacket or sweater, because that often provides too much coverage over the silhouette of the garment. They want to retain the flow or swing of the item – maybe it’s a date night top – but still have a little arm coverage.

Well here’s your answer: it’s the Sleevey Wonder, and it’s so simple I’m surprised that it hasn’t been around before now. Basically, it’s a bra-type fit that can be worn with the v-neck or rounded neck in front. The sleeves come in three quarter or full length, as well as an off-the-shoulder style, and they come in lots of colors and fabric (jersey, mesh, lace, even leopard print.) I personally have two of the mesh Sleevey Wonders and just love them as a layering piece. They take many of my warmer weather items and help me wear them into the cooler months. Of course, living in the San Francisco Bay Area, we get a lot of cool mornings and evenings, so it’s nice to have just a bit more coverage.

Add sleeves to any item

It’s great for wearing under a tank top, a sleeveless dress, under a lower cut top to make it more work appropriate, even under a strapless dress. If you have tattoos you want to cover for a specific occasion, it’s great for that too. It can add a pop of color to a simple black top. So many options!

Is this something you’ve been looking for? Happy to help!
