Making a Space for Joy

This may sound like a strange title, but this is going to be my theme for this new year. It’s so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day busy-ness of life, that I have sometimes felt, at the end of a long day, that I have been running in circles. I know – life is busy – but I want to be sure to enjoy the minutes of each day before another year has flown by. Quoting one of my favorite authors, Gretchen Rubin (who I always seem to quote):

In keeping with this, and in relation to my work, I always love it when I can create a space for a client that is going to be joyful for them or their family. Most of the time, we’re thinking of the practical, and that is definitely an important consideration, but it’s fun when the practical and the joyful can join hands and skip into the future together.

Case in point – my client’s son needed his closet reconfigured to be more useful for both his clothes and the large of amount of toys they were trying to organize. When they sent me this ‘after’ picture, it made me so happy. Isn’t it a fun place?

I am proud of the fact that my husband and I got to experience a great deal of joy during the holidays on our extensive road trip. While driving 2400 miles may not sound like a very joyful experience, we broke it up into manageable pieces, and had a wonderful time with family, along with some restful days soaking up sun on the beach. Even though I worked throughout this trip, thanks to the magic of Zoom, it was a totally joyful experience.

We did ring in the new year in a joyful way while during our beach week. We didn’t expect to be doing anything in particular for New Year’s Eve, but got a call while on the beach on New Year’s Eve saying a table was available for us. Yes, joy! When they had a photo booth available, that topped off the evening. (These particular laughs are a result of both of us tripping into the booth, so…joyful that we didn’t tumble down!)

Thanks for reading – wishing you a most joyful 2022!

Helping my clients achieve and maintain an orderly closet and home is my passion. Whether it’s designing their dream closet…or efficient office space…or orderly garage… I help my clients look forward to facing their day.  When their environment is beautiful and functional, they can feel free to focus on what matters most in their lives.

Are you ready for that kind of peace of mind?  Let’s talk!
