Well, I’m assuming you haven’t missed ALL of your clothes during the Covid shutdown, although if you were running around your home in your birthday suit, I don’t suppose that’s anyone’s business, nor would we even know about it. In any event, what I’m referring to is the fact that most of us are just getting back into a more ‘normal’ routine – going out someplace other than the grocery store. Even though I’ve been working throughout the pandemic, albeit mostly virtually, my attire is definitely more casual than business casual. And forget dressy! I thought this cartoon really captured the place where many of us find ourselves these days…
I know as I’ve been talking to girl friends about our wardrobes – because yes, we do still talk about clothes even if we’re not wearing many of them – most of us are viewing our closets with a bit of a critical eye. Will I wear these things again? Do I even still like them? What’s next?
I have enjoyed seeing pictures of various bloggers, IG’ers, etc who continued to dress up in spite of the pandemic. In particular, I loved this story about the 82 year old woman in Tulsa who continued to dress up all through the pandemic for her virtual worship service every week.
If you live in a warmer climate, I do believe it’s easier to get excited about dressing up. When it’s cold outside I know I’m even less inclined to pop on heels and a fancy outfit. So maybe there’s hope for me yet, what with the weather trying to warm up now. The question is…am I going to be excited to wear some of my former old favorites or are they going to seem just ‘so-so’ to me now?
I’ll be trying to get reacquainted with some of my ‘old friends’ in the next few weeks. How about you?
Thanks for reading – stay safe and stylish!
