I’ve learned over the years that one of the things I love about shopping in the holiday season (that’s not an oxymoron!) is when I stumble across really cute gift ideas that don’t cost an arm and a leg. I’m a huge fan of Target, Sephora and Old Navy, but I also find the cutest things in drug stores too. And let’s not leave out the granddaddy of them all – Walmart. Granted, these items aren’t guaranteed to stand the test of time (although my Old Navy tee shirts and workout wear are pretty amazing in that regard), but at these very affordable price points, they make great stocking stuffers. Here are a few ideas to spark your imagination.
Sleep/Lounge Pants – everyone loves to slip into something comfortable in the evening to watch a movie, holiday or not. I don’t think I could choose between these three – animal print (goes without saying), polka dot or plaid – they all work for me, but there are lots of other designs available as well. Something to please everyone.
Who doesn’t love fuzzy slippers – especially some fun ones to pop on in the morning while you’re making that first cup of coffee? I’d opt for the Wonder Woman or (of course!) the animal print ones, myself.
A trend that has been so very popular this year is the plaid blanket scarf, like this one from Target. This scarf is available in a wide range of color combinations and can instantly pull together a casual outfit. For some different variations on how to wear a blanket scarf, click here. This adorable mini-bag at Target would be a great gift for…well…almost anyone who loves a little variety in their handbag wardrobe. Besides red, it comes in coral, two shades of blue and two metallic options. With the long strap, it can work as a cross-body bag as well. Love!
Not to be left out, Sephora has these great little face mask ‘trial’ size products with a variety of benefits from toning to tightening to plumping to moisturizing to… well, you get the idea. For only $4.00 you can try out the ones you are most interested in. I get several masks out of one container, so it’s very economical.
Last but not least are drugstores. I’ve found the cutest little fashion/beauty items throughout the store, not just in the cosmetics section. For example, I recently found these cute little emery boards and lip balm at the end of a rack in the greeting card section in a CVS. Totally unexpected placement – so it pays to roam around a little in the store.
I hope these suggestions have sparked your imagination for your holiday shopping. Thanks for reading!
