It’s Fun to be a Fashion Copycat

I’ve written about this before in different ways, but I love getting styling inspiration from others. I guess some of us are fashions leaders and others of us are fashion followers. When I find someone whose style I admire, I try to take elements from that style and incorporate it into my own.

Recent case in point – I love the videos by Dominique Sachse on YouTube. She’s a newscaster on a Houston television station, but she’s also got a huge following on her YouTube channel. I think the reason is that she speaks from the heart, and she’s very open about sharing ‘how to’s’ that she’s found useful in her life. I’ve been following her for years (long before she had the 1+ million followers she now has), and I continue to learn from her.

This video from September of this year featured seven looks with one pair of jeans and it really spoke to me. So much so that I was inspired to try one of the looks myself: a white shirt casually thumb-tucked in front, with a pair of black jeans and boots and a belt. I rarely wear belts anymore, but I really ended up loving this look. It felt chic and both dressy and casual at the same time.

Here’s her video so you can get some style inspiration of your own:

I think you’ll want to subscribe to her channel so you can stay up to date with all of her offerings.

Now, how about you…who do you get your style inspiration from?

Thanks for reading – stay stylish!
